Quo vadis

In the darkness of the day
In the brightness of night
I can see clearly where we're going
That's not how it was meant to be

Creating artificially what nature gave freely
Trying to recreate what's already there
Dominating nature, trying to make it a slave
Man, most foolish, among all creation

Chasing dreams, conquering the earth and the moon and stars
With a wad full of cash in the bank, playing God
Messing around with creation, though he's so puny
And wishing for immortality, for reasons known to him

Does it take nature's fury for you to wake up and see?
Are your blinded so much by your insatiable urge to win?
Or are you foolish enough to imagine that you'll be there forever?
Are you blind to nature's reality

You're lesser than an ant
No greater than a cockroach
A playful claw of a tiger can do you in
You're nothing, the weakest amongst creation
You cant run fast enough
Neither your claws and teeth are strong enough
You cannot win a race against a sloth
He has claws that can tear
Yet it in your mammoth folly
You think you're omnipotent
With the power over life and death
While you're just a silly human

Amassing wealth and power
Which can vanish in a second
If that's not Maya
Tell me what it is

Creating a sense of security
Building a nest so fragile
The smallest of nature's fury
Can scatter it in the wind

Where are you going, my dearest?
What's it that you want?
Power and glory and life everlasting
When you know you're just a frail human
